Caterpillar Socks

These socks make great fast in the field enclosures. We carry them with us everywhere and collect all sorts of samples using their double drawstring to hold the bottoms tightly closed.

One half of one side is vinyl the rest is mesh and will not heat up in the sun.

We have 10" by 20" socks now and will soon have much larger available.

This caterpillar wrangler loves the new system!
You just place your nice plants and clean caterpillers inside and check for new pupae or adults. Use these cages for egg laying females and small batch specialty butterflies like Eastern Black Swallowtails, cabbage whites and gulf frits. When the lifecycle or plants are done, replace or sanitize by soaking in a garbage can filled with 10% bleach and rinsing.
They look like new in just minutes!

10-50 caterpillars in each large castle in the greenhouse. You do the math.
With the new Jumbo size you can put the whole plant inside with the pot too!

These large cages were used for 7 months outdoors, repeatedly sanitized and washed out after each lifecycle.
We folded them flat and are using the same ones this year. Tip: Just keep the frass dry!
